Who's who

  • Romeo

    Romeo is the only son of Lord and Lady Montague. He falls in love with Juliet.

  • Juliet

    Juliet is the daughter of Lord and Lady Capulet. She falls in love with Romeo.

  • Friar Laurence

    Friar Laurence is a Franciscan monk. He is a trusted friend of Romeo.

  • The Nurse

    The Nurse works for the Capulet family. She has looked after Juliet since she was a baby.

  • Lord Capulet

    Lord Capulet is head of the Capulet house and Juliet’s father.

  • Lady Capulet

    Lady Capulet is Lord Capulet’s wife and Juliet's mother. She married very young.

  • Mercutio

    Mercutio is a friend of Romeo’s and relative of Prince Escalus.

  • Benvolio

    Benvolio is Lord Montague’s nephew and friend to Romeo and Mercutio.

  • Tybalt

    Tybalt is Lady Capulet’s nephew. He dislikes the Montagues.

  • Paris

    Paris is a nobleman and wants to marry Juliet.

  • Lord and Lady Montague

    Lord and Lady Montague are heads of the Montague house and Romeo's parents.
