Watch our video showing the work that went into the innovative trailer for Gregory Doran's upcoming show.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, our trailer for Troilus and Cressida was built from scratch using Unreal Engine, usually used to create video games.
Using photogrammetry, which makes a 3D scan of an object by combining lots of pictures, we captured the two lead actors, Amber James and Gavin Fowler, and a selection of costumes, which we then recreated digitally. We used motion capture with a high-tech Xsens suit to create the movements of the characters.
Our Video Team appeared at the EGX gaming event at the NEC in Birmingham last month to demonstrate the software behind the trailer, as well as the latest AR (augmented reality) technology pushing the boundaries of what's possible in live theatre.
