The RSC Shakespeare Curriculum is the first teaching and learning platform of its kind dedicated to Shakespeare’s plays with user interfaces for both teachers and students.

It distils our award-winning teaching approaches into a digital resource that can radically transform the way Shakespeare is taught and learnt about at KS3-4.

This interactive platform has everything that teachers and students need to teach and learn about Shakespeare, so students don’t just read Shakespeare but experience it.

The RSC was able to build this platform due to donations from the Foyle Foundation and John Jennings Trust. They, with the RSC, wanted to create a platform accessible to as many students and teachers as possible to revolutionise the way young people engage with Shakespeare.

As a result, we are able to offer free access to UK state funded secondary and SEND schools.

Private education schools will be able to access the platform with tiered pricing.

WHO IS THE PLATFORM FOR?

The content within the Shakespeare Curriculum has been designed for years 7-11 (KS 3-4), and lessons are suitable for adaptive teaching, to meet the abilities and requirements of all students.

Each lesson includes an Extension section which has written activities particularly suited to KS4 students or those requiring further challenge.

There are portals for both teachers and students, and they are fully customisable to reflect the chosen learning pathways and lessons.

It's wonderful. It brings things alive, creates a fresh approach, vision and flexibility of interpretation. It’s very structured and not time consuming. We need everything to be easy to access. An easy way to access that love of literature.
