A performance devised, produced and performed by MA Shakespeare and Creativity students from the University of Birmingham.

What happens when Shakespeare’s women have 21st century sensibilities? What happens when the main characters are able to interact? In the greenroom, these characters can sit and learn their own stories, as well as others. But the question stands - why do we keep rehashing these stories if the women are treated with such old-fashioned beliefs?

University of Birmingham, MA Shakespeare and Creativity, students are exploring the theory and practice of performing Shakespeare today, with an accent on creativity and innovation. Don't miss their devised performance of Symbiote which talks back to the Bard and questions what happens when women try to change what’s written.
