Thisbe is having issues with her 3G whilst Pyramus has some bad news about their secret meeting spot. Join our star crossed lovers for their online date - just don’t tell their parents.
Inspired by the story of Pyramus and Thisbe from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Amy Trigg (RSC company The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure 2019) has created a piece of new writing for the Midsummer Festival.
Pyramus and Thisbe are the Romeo and Juliet of the Mechanicals’ ‘merry and tragical’ play within the play - kept apart by their feuding families, separated by the wall between their houses. Amy’s piece plays with the now-relatable experience of the socially-distanced lovers, with the added twist of trying to keep it secret from the parents.
The film is directed by Leigh Toney with Hannah Azuonye and Amelia Donkor.
