Part of 37 Plays, a national playwriting project to create a series of 37 brand new plays that reflect the world we live in today.
SYNOPSIS
Sian is 16, gay and living in the middle of nowhere. School is awful, and home even worse. Life’s only saving grace is her best mate Tick – an immortal tree spirit with a penchant for biscuits. Sian wants nothing more than to spend an eternity in the woods. But the arrival of city-girl Alex and the threat of a shiny new housing development throw a spanner in the works. Blending magical realism with heady teenage crushes, Beltane explores nature, queerness and belonging in an ever-changing world.
