THREADS Young People's Programme

Would you like to know what a costume supervisor is? Or what happens to a costume after it leaves the stage? Help us tell other young people about costume and heritage.

The closing date has now passed and we are no longer accepting applications.

We are working with seven young people aged 16-25 from Coventry and Warwickshire for a series of workshops with costume makers, exhibition designers, collections managers and more.

They will learn about the process of costume making and what happens to a costume when it comes off stage and is preserved for the future. Then they will help to design an online event or exhibition for other young people across the UK.

The group will help to develop an exciting online resource that will tell other young people about the Costume and Heritage industry.

We wanted a diverse and creative young panel. Our priority was to select eager and interested young people who wouldn't otherwise have access to this kind of opportunity.

Heritage
This opportunity is part of THREADS. A series of outreach and engagement activity which takes the RSC’s Costume Making History out of the workshop. This activity has been made possible by generous support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
