After school teacher training workshops exploring teaching Shakespeare for individual Key Stages

Join us for an after-school workshop for teachers who want to develop their skills and confidence in teaching Shakespeare. In each workshop you will experience Shakespeare using RSC rehearsal room techniques tailored to the Key Stage that you teach. There will be opportunities to try a variety of exercises, ask questions of our experienced Associate Learning Practitioners and take home resources for lesson planning and teaching.

  • Introducing our techniques: have your first experience of using RSC rehearsal room approaches to teach Shakespeare.
  • Practical activities: engage with practical exercises which involve your whole class and demonstrate there are multiple ways to learn about and interpret Shakespeare’s texts.
  • Understanding Shakespeare’s text: delve into extracts from the plays and begin to develop ideas for introducing them and analysing them with your students.
  • Theatre-based approaches: discover approaches used by our actors and directors to tackle complex texts in accessible ways.
