We’re working with students at the University of Birmingham on an online project, to help them continue their studies through the pandemic.
Each year we welcome a group of students to work with us at The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon as part of their MA in Shakespeare and Creativity, to devise a piece of creative work in response to plays in the RSC repertoire.
This year, students will be working online, devising two short form films inspired by Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale and The Comedy of Errors and the theme of journeys.
Students will take part in weekly online devising sessions with actor and playwright Tyrone Huggins, who is Lead Artist on the project. Tyrone (pictured) has more than 40 years experience as an actor and performer appearing in over 90 productions and has written 13 commissioned plays.
Students will work together to develop the two performance pieces, gaining experience of the range of roles involved in creating a piece of film, including storyboarding, producing, writing, performing and directing.
The completed films will be shared on our website and social media at the end of the year.
