Volunteers lit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in a wash of red yesterday (Wednesday) to raise awareness of the dire situation currently being faced by the live events industry.
The building was lit up in red from 6.30-10.30pm, by people volunteering for the campaign.
Entertainment events around the world have been devastated, from major festivals, tours and landmark theatres, to grassroots venues and business events. Without major immediate support from national governments, the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.
Light It In red is a campaign to draw attention to the threat that Covid-19 has brought to the events industry. Campaigners declared yesterday (Wednesday 30 September) a global Day of Action to draw attention to the industry’s plight.
