Our 2018 production of Tartuffe has won the ACTA for Best Production.
Tartuffe transferred the controversial French comedy to modern day Birmingham, into the home of a Pakistani Muslim family.
It won the Best Production for Eastern Eye’s 2019 Arts, Culture and Theatre Awards (ACTA), which recognise British Asian talent in the creative industries. We were delighted that the show also received nominations for:
- Best Actor for Asif Khan
- Best Actor for Simon Nagra
- Best Director for Iqbal Khan
- Best Scriptwriter for the team of Anil Gupta and Richard Pinto
And Romeo and Juliet actor Bally Gill was nominated in the Emerging Artist category.
We collected the award at a ceremony in London on Friday (21 June).
