MEASURE FOR MEASURE

Don't miss this ★★★★★ 'superbly performed' (Guardian) and 'boldly contemporary' (Telegraph) razor-sharp thriller, directed by Emily Burns (Love’s Labour’s Lost), brought up to date in a heart-racing, relevant new version. This Measure for Measure is unmissable theatre with its finger on the pulse of what it means to expose lies, abuse and, ultimately, the truth.

Simon Evans' 'glorious' (Financial Times) and 'utterly exquisite' (WhatsOnStage) ★★★★★ production stars the 'perfect' (The Times) Olivier Award-winning Adrian Lester as Cyrano. This co-adaptatation with Debris Stevenson (Poet in Da Corner, My Brother’s a Genius) brings new life to this thrilling, lyrical tale of love and lies, longing and disguise.

Cyrano de Bergerac plays at the Swan Theatre until 15 November 2025.

MACBETH

The Scottish Play. The Other Place.

Daniel Raggett (Edward II) directs Shakespeare's story of love, power and ambition in the intimate setting of The Other Place. Sam Heughan (Outlander) makes his RSC debut as Macbeth with Lia Williams (The Crown) as Lady Macbeth.

Macbeth plays at The Other Place from 9 October until 6 December 2025.

IN LONDON

Ncuti Gatwa and Edward Bluemel

BORN WITH TEETH

RSC Co-Artistic Director and two-time Olivier Award-winner Daniel Evans directs the 'perfect pair' (Evening Standard) Ncuti Gatwa as Marlowe and Edward Bluemel as Shakespeare in the UK premiere of this explosively entertaining duel of wits, words and powerplay.

Born With Teeth plays at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre, London until 1 November 2025.

TITUS ANDRONICUS

Director Max Webster examines Shakespeare’s bloodiest play through the lens of 21st century aggression in this 'immaculately staged' (Guardian) production, following its smash hit run in Stratford earlier this year.

John Hodgkinson takes on the role of the vengeance-fuelled general Titus Andronicus during its strictly limited London run in Hampstead Theatre.

Titus Andronicus plays at Hampstead Theatre, London until 11 October 2025.

WENDY & PETER PAN

Join us at the Barbican with an exhilarating new take on a beloved classic myth of love, loss, redemption - and pirates. Fly away to Neverland with Ella Hickson’s darkly witty retelling of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan directed by Jonathan Munby, featuring Lolita Chakrabarti, Daniel Krikler, Charlotte Mills, Hannah Saxby and RSC Associate Artist Toby Stephens.

With breathtaking sets from designer Colin Richmond, flying, sword fighting and more than a sprinkling of fairy dust, Wendy & Peter Pan is an unforgettable journey for all the family, playing for 5 weeks only.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL UK & IRELAND TOUR

Our smash-hit family show has officially set off on its second UK and Ireland Tour, kicking off at Leicester's Curve Theatre this October, while simultaneously celebrating 15 joy-filled years on stage.

Based on the beloved book by Roald Dahl, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and book by Dennis Kelly, the show will then travel to Bradford, Liverpool, Plymouth, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham, Norwich, Dublin, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, finishing in Cardiff, where it will play over Christmas 2026 into 2027.

Matilda The Musical tours across the UK and Ireland until January 2027.

FIRST ENCOUNTERS: KING LEAR

Also out and about across the UK is our 90-minute version of King Lear - an edited version of the Shakespeare's original play designed to create the perfect introduction for young people aged 7+ and their families. 

Our First Encounters with Shakespeare production makes this play about family, power and betrayal relevant for a new generation of theatregoers, as Lear's vanity and the machinations of his two eldest daughters have devastating consequences for family, nation and climate.

First Encounters: King Lear tours the UK until 5 December 2025.

INTERNATIONAL

KYOTO

Following its critically-acclaimed runs in Stratford-upon-Avon and @sohoplace, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Good Chance, Rachel Styne and Jessica Foung’s co-production of Kyoto is making its US premiere in New York this month.

The production sees Tony Award-nominated actor Stephen Kunken reprise his celebrated role as oil lobbyist Don Pearlman, with Oliver Award-nominated Jorge Bosch returning as Raul Estrasa-Oyulea. They are joined by Kate Burton as USA.

Kyoto plays at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, Lincoln Center, New York until 30 November 2025.

Discover all the tricks and treats of Macbeth in our family storytelling sessions, explore the story of the three witches in our sensory stay and play sessions, and take part in our brand new Macbeth-themed murder mystery - Death Comes to Dunsinane Castle.

Spend two days working and training like an actor in an RSC rehearsal room. Unlock Shakespeare's language and develop your skills as an actor, looking at key moments and characters from the RSC production of Measure for Measure.

This masterclass is run by an RSC Actor and is perfect for those attending, soon to be attending, or recently graduated from Acting or Theatre courses at University and Drama School. GHOST, GORE AND FOLKLORE TOUR

After something for chills and thrills this October? Learn about theatre superstitions and supernatural sightings at our Ghost, Gore and Folklore tour.

This tour will take you through some of the stories that have arisen during our 140+ year history, including ghostly exits and entrances, the history of theatre superstition and how we achieve some of the gory and gruesome effects in our performances.

Discover Days are a chance to meet and find out more about the people who work across the RSC. From the history of our Collection to designing our shows there are a variety of talks and interactive sessions for you to be a part of and even opportunities to have a go yourself.

Our next Discover Day is based around our current production of Measure for MeasureShakespeare's classic 'problem play', looking at the current RSC production, shows over the years, and having your own say on the text. Enjoy an onstage Unwrapped session in the morning followed by workshops and talks in the afternoon.
