THE CONSTANT WIFE

Join us for this 'theatrical treat' (WhatsOnStage) from RSC Co-Artistic Director Tamara Harvey (Pericles) and playwright Laura Wade (PoshRivals), who reunite to reimagine Somerset Maugham’s subversive comedy in a sparkling new version.

Featuring original music by multi award-winning jazz artist Jamie Cullum and starring Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey) and Kate Burton (Grey’s Anatomy), don't miss this ‘Sharp. Sophisticated. Fabulous’ (Guardian) production.

The Constant Wife plays at the Swan Theatre until 2 August.

4.48 PSYCHOSIS

The entire original cast and creative team return to revisit Sarah Kane’s final masterpiece 25 years on in this 'extraordinarily beautiful' (WhatsOnStage) ★★★★★ co-production with the Royal Court Theatre, in which Kane crafts an unflinching portrait of a psyche teetering on the edge of oblivion. Directed by James Macdonald, with Daniel Evans, Jo McInnes and Madeleine Potter reprising their roles.

THE WINTER'S TALE

AN ACTOR CONVALESCING IN DEVON

An actor takes a train to the West Country, where he once stayed with his late partner Michael. He shares stories and his thoughts about Shakespeare, friends, career and his own health.

A funny and compelling play written specially for RSC Associate Artist Paul Jesson, that movingly affirms the healing power of art and the healing art of theatre.

An Actor Convalescing in Devon plays at the Swan Theatre on 20 July.

FAT HAM

Uninvited guests are one thing. Uninvited ghosts are quite another... Juicy is a queer, Southern college kid, already grappling with some serious questions of identity, when the ghost of his father shows up in their backyard, demanding that Juicy avenge his murder.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Fat Ham is a delectable comic tragedy written by the award-winning playwright James Ijames, originally co-produced off-Broadway by The Public Theater and National Black Theatre.

Fat Ham plays at the Swan Theatre from 15 August - 13 September.

Barbican Season Announcement 2025-26

WENDY & PETER PAN AND TWELFTH NIGHT

We return to the Barbican this autumn/winter with a spellbinding London season of two bittersweet plays, with public booking open from 17 July.

Wendy & Peter Pan is our magical revival of a beloved classic myth of love, loss, redemption - and pirates - adapted by Ella Hickson from the novel by J.M. Barrie, directed by Jonathan Munby and starring RSC Associate Artist Toby Stephens as Captain Hook. Plays 21 October - 22 November.

Twelfth Night is our ‘inspired and spellbinding’ (The Stage) transfer of Shakespeare’s winter masterpiece, directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah, with Samuel West (Malvolio), Freema Agyeman (Olivia), and Michael Grady-Hall (Feste) reprising their critically-acclaimed performances. Plays 8 December 2025 - 17 January 2026.

Join us for the 78th RSC Summer School, a week-long programme of talks from 26-29 August, that dives into Shakespeare, theatre and the shows on our stages from our 2025/26 season.

You will meet and hear from leading members of the acting companies and creative teams to explore the choices made for the productions on our stages, and have the opportunity to find out more about how theatre is made at the RSC. You will also hear from leading academics, arranged in association with The Shakespeare Institute and the University of Birmingham.

You can join us for the whole week, for a day or just a session.

THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA: SUMMER TRAIL

Play your way through the Swan Gardens and all the way to Shakespeare's imagined Italy with our sculptural outdoor trail, an RSC Commission by Lisa Made It.

Inspired by the world of The Two Gentlemen of Verona, our 80-minute summer Shakespeare show perfect for families, this playful trail will bring you closer to the world of the play and look at themes such as love, friendship, youth and risk-taking across seven stations.

Discover the trail in and around the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Gardens from 18 July-13 September, 10am-5pm, Tuesday-Saturday.

Take a seat on our Rooftop Restaurant terrace, with unbeatable views over the River Avon, and tuck into a sumptuous Afternoon Tea, or Vegan Afternoon Tea, with a paired cocktail or mocktail of your choice.

Or, if you'd like to be closer to the water, why not head to our Riverside Terrace, right on the banks of the river. No need to book a table - just head on over and discover our new menu, filled with freshly prepared burgers, salads, flatbreads - plus, you have to try our ice-cream sundaes!

Rooftop Restaurant is open daily from midday for dining. On matinee days, it is open from 10am for tea and coffee, 11.30am for dining.

Riverside Terrace is open daily, serving breakfast from 9am and an all-day menu from 11.30am.

Our on-site prop and costume-makers are some of the best in the world - and now you, or the theatre-lover in your life, can own a piece of stagecraft yourself.

Our talented costume team has been working on these beautiful one-of-a-kind bunnies, transforming recycled costume fabric scraps into Shakespearean characters.

Meanwhile, our props team has created these fabulous skull candles from melted down candles from our recent production of Titus Andronicus, as well as recycled paper bundles from prop notebooks.

Each piece is handmade and completely unique. Check out the collection in person or online - hurry before they're gone!
