The programme gives teachers the chance to explore Shakespeare through rehearsal room techniques that can be used in the classroom.
Our Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare has completed a successful first year. The programme trains teachers on how to confidently use rehearsal-room techniques in the classroom, bringing the plays to life for young people as they encounter Shakespeare for the first time.
Teachers attended training days in Stratford, looking at eight plays and watching three RSC productions to develop their understanding of Shakespeare's writing. They also worked with five of our dedicated Education Associate Practitioners and enjoyed sessions with our Head of Voice Kate Godfrey, and Head of Music Bruce O'Neil.
Feedback from the participants has been incredibly positive: "This has been a transformative experience on a very personal level. It has given me the confidence to really go out there and make Shakespeare come alive. My students are having a ball and loving Shakespeare."
