Zara is the vocalist performing music composed by Laura Mvula in Antony & Cleopatra, which opened this week. She performs both onstage and with the band.

An award-winning singer songwriter, with two critically acclaimed albums to her name, Zara has collaborated with musicians from a range of genres, including Lil' Louie Vega, Gregory Porter and Dianne Reeves.

Her album If You Knew Her won a Best Jazz Mobo award in 2014 and she won Jazz FM’s Vocalist of the Year in 2015.

Zara is signed to record label Brownswood Recordings, owned by DJ Gilles Peterson. She is currently working on a third album, to be released in Autumn 2017.
