We have welcomed two new apprentices to our Box Office team.
Our two Customer Service (Ticketing) Apprentices, Ruth and Holly, started their 13-month apprenticeships in the autumn working in our Box Office and learning about ticketing and how to provide the best customer service.
They mainly work in our call centre, based at The Other Place, taking calls from our Members, Subscribers and the general public, helping them choose tickets and providing information on all our services and products.
Holly says: “When you have helped someone and made them really happy, and they thank you for doing a good job – that makes you feel really good.
“And there is a brilliant perk of the job – that we get to see all the shows, and I want to see everything so if someone asks me about it in a call I know what I’m talking about.”
Holly joined the team from a background in retail, while Ruth finished her university course in theatre. Ruth said: “People think it is hard to get into the RSC but I filled out a form and went to an interview.”
She adds “I want to work in a theatre. As long as I’m in a theatre I’m happy – it doesn’t matter where!”
